What types of businesses does MOBOPAY support? +
MOBOPAY supports a wide range of low, medium, and high-risk industries in Canada and the United States, including:

Do you work with high-risk merchants? +
Yes. High-risk is one of our specialties. We have direct relationships with acquirers that understand industries like supplements, continuity billing, coaching, and other higher-risk profiles. We’ll review your:
  • Business model and website
  • Refund / cancellation policies
  • Processing volume, ticket size, and history
  • Chargeback ratios (if applicable)
From there, we match you with the right banking partner and structure for stability.
How long does it take to get approved? +
For most standard, low-risk accounts, approvals can often be turned around within 24–48 business hours once we receive a complete application. High-risk or more complex files may take longer, depending on:
  • Industry and processing history
  • Volume requested and ticket size
  • Underwriting questions or additional documents required
We’ll keep you updated at each step so you always know where your file stands.
What documents do I need to apply? +
This can vary by industry and risk level, but typically you’ll need:
  • Government-issued ID for all owners
  • Void cheque or banking confirmation
  • Articles of incorporation / business registration
  • 3–6 months of processing statements (if switching providers)
  • Product / service details and website / funnel URLs
For certain industries, we may ask for supplier/manufacturer information, ingredient lists (for Nutra), or fulfilment and refund policies.

Pricing, Fees & Contracts

How does MOBOPAY pricing work? +
Most merchants are placed on interchange-plus pricing, which means:
  • You pay the underlying card-brand interchange + a small MOBOPAY markup
  • Pricing is transparent and scalable — as your volume grows, it stays fair
For some high-risk categories or specialized setups, a blended rate may be used. We’ll always walk you through the structure before anything is signed.
Do you have long-term contracts or cancellation fees? +
This depends on your hardware and pricing setup:
  • Software/gateway-only setups are often flexible with no long-term lock-in.
  • Terminal leases or subsidized equipment may include a fixed term.
We’ll always make your term and any cancellation conditions clear and in writing before you proceed.
Are there monthly, PCI, or statement fees? +
Some setups may include:
  • A monthly account or gateway fee
  • Possible PCI-related fee, depending on the provider
  • Optional value-add tools (chargeback tools, alerts, etc.)
During onboarding, we’ll go line by line through your fee schedule, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and why.
Can you review or beat my current pricing? +
Yes. Send us:
  • Your recent processing statements
  • Your current fee schedule or agreement (if available)
We’ll provide a side-by-side comparison and let you know where we can save you money — or if your current setup is already strong.
Hardware & Money Flow

Terminals, Payouts & Reserves

What terminals and hardware do you offer? +
We work with modern, secure devices such as:
  • All-in-one smart terminals for counter and pay-at-table
  • Portable wireless devices for delivery, taxi, and on-site services
  • Integrated Clover and other POS setups (where available)
We’ll recommend hardware based on how you actually run your business.
Can I use my existing terminal or gateway? +
In some cases, yes. Certain terminals and gateways can be reprogrammed to work with MOBOPAY’s banking partners. Share the model and current provider details and we’ll confirm compatibility.
When do I receive my deposits? +
Funding times vary by setup, but many merchants receive deposits in 1–2 business days. Factors that can influence timing include:
  • Industry and risk level
  • Processing volume and average ticket
  • Country and banking partner (Canada vs. USA)
We’ll confirm your expected funding schedule during onboarding so there are no surprises.
Do you use rolling reserves? Why? +
For some high-risk or subscription-based merchants, a rolling reserve may be required by the acquiring bank. Reserves are used to:
  • Protect against unexpected chargebacks or refunds
  • Support higher volumes and faster scaling
If a reserve is required, we’ll explain the percentage held, the release timeline, and what behaviors can help reduce or remove it over time.
